Yeah, on some weekends there’s a good chance that when I post something, a walk is involved somehow. I say this because I went out for another stroll here a couple of hours ago before it got dark and just kind of let my mind wander where it may.
As luck would have it, I found myself at one point remembering a fantastic little list on things to look for in a potential spouse (put together by Alastair Begg of Truth for Life ministries) that I was exposed to several years back. I’ve done a little searching on the web since I got back, and I was actually able to locate a typed, abridged version of it online (it was originally presented as a radio broadcast). Encountering it again, it is as solid as I remembered it, so I link to it here for your edification.
Now, as you read this, don’t only look at the group of things that you need to be looking for (in a man or a woman, as the case may be); you need to also look at what Mr. Begg is counseling the opposite gender to look for, and then see how you stack up (getting some 2nd or 3rd party to evaluate you might be a good idea – keep things objective), and strive to do so more and more.
I’ve found the entire presentation (audio and typed transcripts both) online; it is available here.
